For the third time this season, the North East Enduro Tour Series (NEETS) took to the 1/3-mile dirt oval at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA. After nearly every track in the tri-state area rained out for the weekend, perfect racing conditions brought many fans and racers alike to the popular venue Sunday afternoon. Duane Eidem scored his first win of the season in the 6/8-cylinder class and Dave Bentley, Jr. notched his second straight 4-cylinder victory in the "Pre- 4th of Junk-ly" events. Mandie Pauch bested the field and took the win in the "ladies only" race.

Twenty-five 4 four cylinders were first to hit the track as Steve Todorow led the field to the drop of the green for the 104-lap enduro.

Tommy Stevens quickly took the lead but was overtaken by Ty Spier by the second circuit.

Shorty after, Spier and Bob Wohlgemuth tangled on the backstretch, leaving Wohlgemuth's machine in a crumpled mess.

Todorow regained the race lead and put some distance on the field until the red flew on lap 36.

Dave Bentley, Jr. began to close in and Todorow was forced to relinquish the race lead when he retired with mechanical problems on lap 70.

Another red flag was thrown on lap 76 for a spectacular double roll flip by Nate "The Playboy" Hefner. To the cheers of everyone, Nate climbed out under his own power and the race resumed.

Bentley never looked back as he took the checkers in the 104-lap race over "The Real" Kenny Wallace, Mike Ventura, Mark Forman and Steve Todorow.

Cory Baver led 37 of his fellow competitors to the start of the 107-lap 6/8-cylinder feature race. As Baver lead the first few laps, he was overtaken by Pat Hires, who kept the lead until suffering a flat tire on lap 15.

That put the lead into the hands of Brian Yelk and Keith Frankenfield was hot on his tail. Frankenfield snatched the lead on lap 19.

The red flag was shown on lap 28 when Greg Birmingham could not refire his mount after spinning out between turns 3 & 4.

Shortly after a multicar pile up in turn two took out the leader and several other cars along with Tim Pauch who had been in the top five. However, in spite of losing some positions, Pauch was able to continue. The turn of events gave the race lead to Duane Eidem.

The last red waved on lap 85 for Angelo Spezialetti, who made hard contact with the wall near the pit exit gate. Angelo was okay and green flag racing resumed.

Laps wound down and Eidem was still in the lead with Shawn Naftzinger close behind. Naftzinger did his best to reel in and overtake the leader, but he ran out of laps and finished in the runner-up spot.

Tim Pauch, Chris Reichert and Joel Pilgret completed the top five.

Nine ladies lined up on the front stretch in a mix of Small and Big Cars for the first ever "Ladies Only" NEETS race at Grandview Speedway.

With Sally Sanders at the helm, she lead the pack past the wave of the green flag.

Being both undersized and out-motored with a 4 cylinder Saturn, Sally pushed her hardest and managed to pull away from the other charging 8 cylinder cars!

Veteran factory stock driver Sue Collins held her position while she got used to driving on dirt for the first time and got a smooth run in the groove she had picked. Marly Reimert held on to second place for most of the race until she got tangles up with Sally for the lead.

During the confusion on front stretch, Mandee Pauch worked the outside groove and took over with two laps to go!

Mandee held on to the lead and was able to win the first ever NEETS Ladies Race at Grandview Speedway!

The next event is slated for July 11th at Wall Stadium. The next Grandview Speedway enduro will mark the half-way point through the 2009 racing season and will feature two 150 lap races each worht one and a half times regular points, tentatively.
