NEETS Series to compete at Wall at least three times during 2009Story by: Jeff GravattDate: March 24th, 2009 The unpredictable and thrilling racing action of the North East Enduro Tour Series (N.E.E.T.S.) will take to the high banks of the Wall Township Speedway at least three times during the 2009 racing season, track promoter Jim Morton has announced. All Saturday evenings, the N.E.E.T.S. racers will race on the third mile oval on May 30, July 11 and August 22. The three dates will feature the N.E.E.T.S. Big Car Division, featuring 8 and 6 cylinder engines, and the Small Car division, showcasing 4 cylinder power. Both divisions will race in their own 100 lap main event. In addition, the N.E.E.T.S. Trux Division will also see action in a scheduled 50-lap contest. If dates can be worked out later in the season, additional N.E.E.T.S. events may be added to the schedule. "We are very happy to be coming to the famous high banks at Wall in 2009," N.E.E.T.S. promoter Joe Cutri said. "This gives us a great and diverse schedule. We have eight races on the dirt at the Grandview Speedway in Pennsylvania and now these races on the pavement at Wall. Car counts are looking good and this gives racers even more incentive to come out and compete." "Enduro racing can be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to seeing it at Wall," speedway promoter Jim Morton said. "I think that this is a great way to go racing in a tough economy. We should be able to present exciting racing at a very affordable price for the fans here at Wall." More information on the series and be obtained by visiting its website at www.neetsracing.com. After a series of practice sessions that continues this Saturday (March 28) from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., the first auto racing event on the third-mile oval for the 2009 season is set for Saturday, April 18. On the opening day agenda will be a special 100-lap Championship Race for the Wall/SK Modifieds. Also on that agenda will be the Sportsman racers, Street Stocks, Legend Cars and the Flanagan Retail Development Factory Stocks. Next up will be racing events on May 9 and May 23 before several racing events are presented on Saturday nights during the summer months. The annual Turkey Derby caps off the season in November. In addition to the auto racing events, Promoter Jim Morton is currently working with various promoters in an effort to bring other "family friendly" shows and events to the Wall Township stadium this season. Details will be announced soon. Wall Township Speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. The speedway office is open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and all day Saturday during events. The speedway hotline number is 732-681-6400, while more information is available at www.wallspeedway.com. |
