2008 SERIES
OVERVIEW In 2007, the North East Enduro Tour Series (NEETS) experienced a major transition from old to new management. Both myself, Joe Cutri, and my lovely fianceé, Erin Bartley, have stepped up to the plate and are in control of the series' future. Together, we will bring in a new era in NEETS Enduro racing! To start things off, we have already announced that NEETS will be racing at two speedways this season, Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA and White Lake Speedway in White Lake, NY. If have never been to a Saturday night event at Grandview Speedway, you don't know what you are missing, the action is intense! We are going to try our best to promote this series at any and all major racing related venues/events around the PA, NJ, DE and NY areas! If there is an event you believe NEETS should make and appearance at, let me know and I will do my best to make it happen! Both Erin and myself will be showing our devotion to our new speedways by participating at as many Saturday night events at Grandview Speedway as possible! With help from both Bruce Rogers, Grandview's promoter, and Ernie Saxton, Grandview's announcer and head of advertising, we are on the path to bringing NEETS back into the spotlight! As of right now, in early May, there are a lot of gray areas regarding White Lake Speedway which I can not clear up officially. The new land lord will be making his announcements and press releases shortly, and until then, I can not make a statement for him. Therefore, the information regarding the speedway and the new land lord that has been spoken to myself will have to remain out of the lime light until is has been officially and publically announced...sorry! Also, I would like to state our apologies to everyone for taking us so long to find us a home for 2008...but I would hope you should understand we weren't concerned about finding us a home for just 2008. If everything goes smoothly and according to plan (knock on wood!) we will be in for the long haul at both Grandview Speedway and White Lake Speedway! My main focus was not just finding a place to dock for a season and then be on the search again. I want to find a place for this series to call a home once and for all. Once we have a home track, we can revive the touring aspect again as a means to attract more racers to the series. But this can not be done without a solid stepping stone which a "Home Track" will create. I know this question has come up many times before: "Why is NEETS called a touring series if you don't tour?". Well, to be honest, we do tour! In 2004, we raced at Mountain Speedway. In 2007, we raced at Mahoning Valley Speedway. And in 2008 we will be racing at Grandview Speedway and White Lake Speedway. We may not 'tour' to different locations throughout the season, but we have raced among many of the great tracks throughout the years! And finally, I would like to thank all of our dedicated staff and drivers for waiting it out this season... Though we missed out on some great racing so far and are starting later than expected, it is all towards working out a flawless 2009 season! NEETS has many new and exciting ideas ahead of us in the 2008 racing season, but as usual, if you have any creative ideas you would like to see NEETS try out, give us a call! We are always open to comments and complaints! In closing... I would like to say that this will be our 'comeback' season! NEETS is going to go shift into another gear this season and I hope to see everyone from before and even more people than ever before! Thank you, |
